ABOUT QiGong

QiGong is the art of harmonizing the body’s rhythm to nature through movement

What is QiGong Anasa

The body is in constant movement. Even when you are sitting still, the internal functioning of the body is continuously working to keep you alive.
Just like our solar system, the planets revolve around the sun. All the organs of the body revolve around the central axis of the spine.

We are 75% water, so is the Earth. Water carries memory. We contain, within our bodies, all the cellular memories of our existence from the beginning of time. That is how profound we truly are. This is what we mean, when we say, going within to understand ourselves. Qigong moves the soma (body) in specific patterns, in targeted direction that amplifies and clarifies the signals to our brain. When we open the pathways (meridians), we enter fluidity and improved blood circulation.

We create balance in the body, mind and spirit

heaven video

This video demonstrates how to balance the fire and water elements by circulating Heavenly (Yang) Qi with Earthly (Yin) Qi. The center (solar plexus area) is where we gather and mix these two polarities to create balance. In this video I use the healing sound “whoooooo” targeted at the spleen to provide a healing vibration. This fertilizes and calibrates the sympathetic system, from fight/flight survival, back into the parasympathetic relax, restore safety mode. The healing vibrational frequency of this healing sound signals the brain into embodying safety by regulating the vagal tone (PVT). I then explain some simple Qigong movements to re-pattern the nervous system.

Each action of movement is articulated through contraction and expansion. This articulation is like a pump that sends an electrical charge which stimulates the entire body, oxygenating the cells and clearing stagnation. All illnesses arise from stagnation. In Qigong, we learn how to lead out the excess of heat and how to absorb the Qi from nature. This Qi (energy) is purer than the Qi that we acquire from food or air. We work on inner alchemy, to help transform the “Qi” into usable vitality. Once we do this, we create balance in the body, mind and spirit because we nourished them.

Jing, Qi and Shen

Qigong specifically, is based on Taoist methodology which is related to nature. It is based on the doctrines of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The human body is a microcosm of the macrocosm. The Yin and Yang, Sun and Moon, Hot and Cold is the duality of nature. It is the balance of opposites. The seasons on Earth are also reflected within the organs in our body. For instance, the heart is associated with the Summer season and the element of Fire. The emotions that we hold in the heart are multi-fold. Sadness in the heart, can be transformed into Peace and Tranquility.

QigongAnasa combines Emotional Freedom Technique in tapping these energy pathways (meridians), to release trapped trauma. Tapping the meridians while thinking of whatever causes you trauma at that moment, you tap that acupressure point and the cortisol levels drop because you balanced the meridian. We can shut off those genes that have high stress and anxiety. For example, the K1 - (located at the middle of Ball of the foot) thought field pattern which is associated with ancestral attachment, can be tapped out. The pattern gets erased resulting in your body posture and face to calm right back to parasympathetic mode.

The foundational practice of Qigong is guarding, nourishing and replenishing the 3 treasures. These are the Jing, Qi and Shen. Jing is nourished by Qi. Our original essence makes water which is stored in the kidneys. This essence or Jing is the energy we are born with and  determines how long we will live; it is our reserve of life force. Jing can be replenished by certain types of Qigong and herbs. If we used the analogy of a candle, we could say that Jing is like the candle itself. Qi is like the flame of the candle, the energy of life acquired through breathing and eating and is manifested as our day-to-day vitality. Shen is like the light given off by the candle. It is the Spirit, the energy of consciousness and awareness.
